St. Michael Chaplet

Sometimes it feels like the Evil One is assailing us from all sides.  I have made this St. Michael Chaplet to encourage us to pray to the angels for protection.  I found the history of this Chaplet and the prayers explained on the EWTN website.  The idea of having an escort of nine angels with me as I recieved Holy Communion was very exciting!

The history of this Chaplet goes back to a devout Servant of God, Antonia d'Astonac, who had a vision of St. Michael. He told Antonia to honor him by nine salutations to the nine Choirs of Angels. St. Michael promised that whoever would practice this devotion in his honor would have, when approaching Holy Communion, an escort of nine angels chosen from each of the nine Choirs. In addition, for those who would recite the Chaplet daily, he promised his continual assistance and that of all the holy angels during life.

I used bronze filigree beads for the Our Father beads on this chaplet because they reminded me of armor.  The center on this chaplet looks like a shield.  The medal has St. Michael on one side and Our Lady on the other. Click on these pictures to see the details.
