A Vintage Medal of St Therese of the Child Jesus

What a gorgeous St. Therese medal!
I have been looking high and low to find a special medal that I can use with my St. Therese Sacrifice Bead Bracelets.  The medal I currently use, is just a little bit larger than I would prefer.  (See the photo below.)

The medal I have been using is nice...but a bit too big.

Recently I was able to find an antique medal, which is exactly what I have in mind.  It came from Belgium and is a unique and special piece.

What makes my vintage medal  particularly lovely are the following:

1)  The beautiful representation of St. Therese.

2) The unique shape and detailing of roses and ribbons that encircles the medal.

3) The lovely quote and detail that is included on the back of the medal.

"Je veux passer mon ciel a faire du bien a sur la Terre".

Which translate to "I will spend my heaven doing good on Earth."

I especially love that this medal is so diminutive.  It is about half the size of the antique reproduction that I already have.

Since I am unable to find anything like this on the market.   I plan to have a mold made from it, so it can be reproduced.  I am presently in communication with a caster, regarding having it cast in bronze.  I will wait to have it cast in silver, because of the expense.

I am so excited.  I am praying to St. Therese that it will not take too long!

UPDATE:  My new Therese medals arrived at the beginning of May.  The reproduction medal is pictured on my bracelet below.  I will write a post to show case my medal after Mothers Day.

  1. This is such a beautiful medal. I love St. Therese of Lisieux and have a bracelet that has small links all around it. Each link has Her image on one side and a rose on the other.
I have been looking at medals on line today and just ordered a St. Terese of Avila medal. I wanted a small one and found a charm size one in silver at PatronSaintMedals.com. I saw the lovely painting of Her on 'The Woodwifes' blog. She mentioned that she was the patron Saint of headaches, so I wanted to get her medal.

  2. I will have to check out that St. Teresa of Avila medal. My sister was named after her, and has a special devotion to her. I bet she would be thrilled with a special bracelet of her patron! Thanks for mentioning it!

  3. Hi Mary,

I pray the caster can replicate that medal. It is so pretty and unique.
