Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Elizabeth Ann Seton

This weekend I had a lovely visit to the Shrine of Elizabeth Anne Seton, in Emmitsburg, VA.  St Elizabeth Anne Seton is the first American Saint.   As a widow she came to the United States with her children.  She started a school for girls.  It is great to visit this place where she use to teach catechism and attend mass.  The favorite spot is now a replica of the Grotto of lourdes.

The tiny original church where she attended mass is still there.
